Terms of Service

1. Agreement and the service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Starforge Pets, including its website, accounts, pet collection and breeding systems, expeditions, Incursions, player marketplaces, community spaces, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and the Community Guidelines and acknowledge the Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the Service. “We,” “us,” and “Starforge Pets” mean the people or entity operating the Service.

2. Eligibility and your account

• You must be legally able to agree to these Terms and use the Service lawfully.
• Do not use the Service if doing so would violate the laws that apply to you, including age, export, sanctions, or online-gaming rules.
• Give accurate information, keep your login credentials private, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
• You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless it resulted from our own failure to use reasonable security measures.
• One person may not create accounts to evade a suspension, manipulate rewards, or obtain more starter benefits than the game allows.

3. Game systems, virtual items, and changes

Starforge Pets may include virtual currencies such as Glimmer, Stardust, Prisms, Legacy Echoes, and Star-Steel; pets; markings; mutations; apparel; materials; recipes; listings; progression; and other digital content (“Virtual Content”). Virtual Content is a limited, revocable permission to use features inside the Service. It is not property, money, a security, or a promise of future value.

• Virtual Content cannot be redeemed for cash or transferred outside the Service unless we expressly provide an approved feature for it.
• Balances and progress may change because of gameplay, corrections, fraud prevention, moderation, rollbacks, seasonal resets, or an update.
• We may rebalance, remove, rename, replace, or discontinue a game feature. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes in advance when practical.
• Do not sell, buy, farm, trade, or broker accounts or Virtual Content for real-world money outside an approved Service feature.

Cross-site trading. Some players trade Virtual Content with users of other pet-collecting or pet-sim games that permit this kind of exchange under their own rules. Doing so is allowed only when the exchange is for another site's in-game currency or items, never for U.S. dollars, cryptocurrency, gift cards, or any other real-world money or value. A cross-site trade happens entirely outside the Service: Starforge Pets staff do not monitor, arrange, moderate, or verify these trades, and we will not refund, reverse, compensate, or otherwise resolve a dispute arising from one. You take on that risk yourself, and a bad cross-site trade is not grounds for a claim against Starforge Pets.

Any future paid purchase flow will show its price and any applicable refund or cancellation terms before checkout. Nothing in these Terms removes a consumer right that cannot legally be waived.

4. Fair play and security

You may use normal browser features and accessibility tools, but you may not:

• bot, scrape, automate, or script gameplay, claiming, breeding, expedition, marketplace, or social actions;
• probe, overload, reverse engineer, bypass, or interfere with the Service or another player’s account;
• exploit a bug for an advantage, duplicate items or currency, manipulate requests, or conceal an exploit from staff;
• use stolen credentials, payment information, invitation codes, or personal information; or
• circumvent rate limits, moderation decisions, access restrictions, or a suspension.

Report a reproducible exploit privately to the Starforge Pets team rather than publishing instructions that put other accounts at risk.

5. Player-created content

You may submit content such as usernames, pet names, bios, avatars, listings, descriptions, messages, reports, and other material (“Player Content”). You keep ownership of Player Content that you created, except for the rights you grant below.

You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, moderate, display, and distribute your Player Content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and promote the Service. This license ends when the content is deleted, except for copies retained in backups, moderation records, legal records, or quoted material that other players have lawfully incorporated into the Service.

You promise that you have the rights needed to submit Player Content and that it does not violate these Terms, the Community Guidelines, another person’s rights, or applicable law. Do not upload personal information about someone else without permission.

6. Moderation and account action

We may review reports and take action when we reasonably believe an account or Player Content threatens the safety, fairness, rights, or operation of the Service. Depending on the situation, action may include removing content, reversing an exploit-related gain, limiting a feature, issuing a warning, suspending an account, or permanently closing an account.

We may act without advance notice when needed to prevent harm, preserve evidence, or protect the Service. You may contact the team if you believe an action was mistaken; an appeal is a request for review, not a guarantee of reversal.

7. Ownership and feedback

The Service, including its software, layout, branding, original artwork, writing, characters, systems, and non-player content, belongs to Starforge Pets or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you permission to use the Service for personal, non-commercial play; they do not transfer ownership or allow you to copy, resell, or repackage the Service.

If you send suggestions or feedback, you allow us to use them without payment or an obligation to keep them confidential. Please do not send confidential ideas or materials.

8. Availability and disclaimers

Starforge Pets is an evolving game and may be in alpha or beta. The Service may contain bugs, downtime, maintenance, balance changes, lost progress, or content that is still being built. We provide it on an “as available” and “as is” basis to the fullest extent permitted by law.

We do not promise that the Service will always be available, error-free, secure, compatible with every device, or preserved indefinitely. Keep copies of anything you need outside the Service.

9. Limits of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Starforge Pets and its operators, contributors, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive losses, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or Virtual Content arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

10. Ending use of the Service

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end access, or discontinue the Service, subject to any rights that apply under law. When access ends, the permissions granted to use the Service and Virtual Content end; provisions about ownership, Player Content, disputes, disclaimers, and liability continue where necessary.

11. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms as the game changes. The “Last updated” date above identifies the current version. If a change is material, we will use a reasonable notice method available to us. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
