1. What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how Starforge Pets collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you visit the site, join the waitlist, create an account, or play the game. It covers the Service described in the Terms of Service.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account information, such as a username, email when requested, password credentials, and invitation or referral details.
• Profile and creative information, such as display name, pronouns, avatar, profile bio, pet names, pet bios, markings, listings, and other Player Content.
• Gameplay information, such as pets, breeding choices, expeditions, Incursions, inventory, currencies, progression, trades, notifications, and moderation or support requests.
• Waitlist information, including the email you submit, the source of the signup, the signup time, unsubscribe state, and capture-time connection information used for abuse triage.

Information collected automatically

• Security and access information, such as connection and login-event details, where needed to prevent abuse, investigate account safety, and enforce moderation.
• Account activity timestamps, such as last-active information, to operate presence and account-management features.
• Essential browser storage, including session and security cookies. The installable app shell may cache static assets and an offline fallback; it does not intentionally cache personalized pages or mutating requests.

We do not intentionally collect precise location, contact lists, microphone recordings, camera recordings, or payment-card numbers through the current game surface.

3. How we use information

• To create and authenticate accounts, save game state, provide gameplay, and respond to requests.
• To deliver waitlist confirmations, invitations, password-reset messages, and other service email you request or need.
• To maintain fair play, rate-limit abuse, investigate reports, protect accounts, and enforce the Terms and Community Guidelines.
• To understand errors, maintain reliability, back up data, and improve the game’s systems and accessibility.
• To comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, resolve disputes, and protect the rights and safety of players and the Service.

4. When we share information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We may share the minimum information needed with:

• service providers that host the site, database, cache, task workers, error-monitoring systems, or email delivery, under instructions to provide those services;
• staff and moderators who need access to operate the game, respond to reports, or protect the community;
• other players, when you choose to publish information through a profile, pet, listing, community feature, or other public surface; and
• authorities, professional advisers, or another party when required to comply with law, protect safety or rights, investigate abuse, or handle a business transfer.

We do not make Player Content or profile details public merely because they exist; visibility depends on the feature and your settings. Remember that anything you intentionally publish to another player may be copied or retained by them.

5. Cookies and browser storage

Starforge Pets uses essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, protect forms against cross-site request forgery, remember selected preferences, and support the installable app shell. These are necessary for core features. If we add analytics, advertising, or non-essential tracking, this policy will be updated and any consent required by law will be requested.

6. Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain an account and its game history, handle moderation and disputes, meet legal obligations, and protect against abuse. Retention differs by record type. For example, the current system periodically prunes older login-event records and read notifications, while waitlist records may be retained after unsubscribe so a withdrawn email is not silently re-added.

Backups and security or moderation records may remain for a reasonable period after a change or deletion request. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, subject to these limits.

7. Your choices and rights

• You can unsubscribe from waitlist email using the unsubscribe link in the message.
• You can review or update certain profile and account settings through the Service.
• You may ask us to access, correct, delete, restrict, or provide a copy of personal information where those rights apply to you.
• You may object to a use of information or withdraw consent where the legal basis is consent, subject to necessary processing for account security and operation.

Send requests through the Starforge Pets Discord. We may need to verify that a request belongs to you, and local law may limit or qualify these rights.

8. Security and international processing

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information, but no internet service is perfectly secure. Do not reuse a password or send a password to staff.

Our service providers or team may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we will use an appropriate legal mechanism for an international transfer.

9. Updates and support

We may update this policy when the game or its data practices change. The “Last updated” date above identifies the current version. Material changes will receive reasonable notice when practical.
